Like many of us, I've had times when I met with criticism that seemed unfair and harmful. Another disadvantage of a racially and socioeconomically homogeneous environment is strengthened competition among students. With the majority of these students coming from well educated, white-collar families, there’s an obvious mentality among them that the goal of high school is to gain admission to key universities. I just counted how many foreign languages I’ve studied so far in my life and it's been delve!
